What is a Material Transfer Agreement (MTA)?

A Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) is a contract that governs the transfer of tangible research materials between two organizations when the recipient intends to use it for his or her own research purposes.

When is an MTA Used?

An MTA is used for incoming transfers, where UF is receiving research materials from other entities, as well as outgoing transfers, where we are sharing UF research materials with other entities.

Who Negotiates MTAs for UF?

UF MTAs are negotiated by UF Innovate | Tech Licensing.
