The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) is the largest insurance payer and has developed the most detailed policies and procedures regarding clinical research coverage. Many private payers have adapted/adopted Medicare policies for clinical research coverage. For these reasons, UF will adhere to Medicare rules as our baseline practice for determining billing plans for all clinical research studies.
Note: Medicare is actively auditing Medicare Service Providers to ensure lawful compliance to clinical research billing rules and regulations.
